Many college students are unaware of the resources available to help pay for their educations – and there are also a number of resources out there intended exclusively for nursing students*.

Remember to avoid scholarship scams, which can be typified by any scholarship offer that requires a significant up-front fee, requires a debit or credit card number, promises to “do all the work for you” or guarantees you will win a scholarship.

Below are links to legitimate scholarship opportunities and even a government loan repayment program dedicated to nursing education.

Johnson & Johnson’s DiscoverNursing.com has a nursing scholarship search engine as well.

The U.S. Health Services and Resources Administration Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program helps registered nurses with their nursing school debts.

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing lists a number of resources on its site.

The National Student Nurses Association offers a number of useful resources, including and addition to financial aid.

NursingScholarship.us is a searchable scholarship database.

The Ohio Board of Regents offers a number of state grants and scholarships.

The Kentucky Board of Nursing awards scholarships through the Nursing Incentive Scholarship Fund.

The Florida Nurses Association offers grants and scholarships.

The Florida Nursing Students Association offers scholarship opportunities.

Good Samaritan Foundation offers a scholarship for nursing students in Texas.

The Texas Nurses Association offers some resources and tips regarding scholarships.
