Academic Advising

Academic Advising is available to all students. Faculty are flexible and often make alternative arrangements outside of the posted times in order to assist students as needed. For academic assistance, students may schedule an appointment with faculty members who can assist in study skills as well as address other academic needs. Part-time students in the LPN to RN program are encouraged to consult an academic advisor regarding their curriculum plan and length of study.

Each enrolled student is assigned an academic advisor and is expected to meet with their academic advisor quarterly in order to register for the next quarter’s enrollment. Incoming students will follow the registration and admissions process, and will not be required to meet with their academic advisor until they are registering for the next quarter’s classes.

All students enrolled in the RN program will meet with their academic advisor and review and complete the Transcript Form and Registration/Advisement Form.

In addition to advisement services, Galen also provides remediation resources and services through Evolve Learning System in connection with administering the HESI examinations.

Personal Counseling

Galen is also committed to helping students progress successfully through the academic challenges for its nursing programs. A school counselor is available, at no cost, to provide confidential guidance for a wide variety of personal issues, such as test anxiety, learning struggles, interpersonal conflict, family struggles, depression, and anxiety.
