How To Apply
Upon acceptance into Galen College of Nursing, students are provided a financial aid packet which contains detailed information regarding each of the financial aid programs available and an application for Federal Student Aid.
To apply for federal financial aid, a student must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). If you are familiar with the FAFSA, you may choose to complete the application online at
www.fafsa.ed.gov using our school code of 015924. If you choose to complete your application online, please do so at least 10 days prior to your financial aid appointment to allow time for the Department of Education to process your application. You will receive a copy of your Student Aid Report either through e-mail (if an e-mail address is provided) or a hard copy will be mailed to your home. You must bring the Student Aid Report to your financial aid appointment.
Students who would prefer individual assistance with their FAFSA, should complete as much of the application as possible and bring to your scheduled appointment with the Financial Planning Coordinator.
Completing the FAFSA is the first step in the financial aid process. You will need certain information to properly complete the FAFSA. These items are referenced in the Galen College financial aid packet or can be accessed at
www.fafsa.ed.gov/before001.htm.
If you prefer to download the items from this list you may do so. They are also provided in the financial aid packet you will receive with the acceptance letter.
