Galen College of Nursing Cincinnati Campus - Registrar

Transferring Credit Earned at Other Institutions

If an applicant is currently attending or has attended a school other than Galen College with related courses, he or she may be able to transfer those courses. To be considered for acceptance at Galen as a transfer student an applicant must submit an application to Galen. Before admission, applicants must have a copy of the transcript sent to Galen directly from each school, college, or university attended since high school. The Admissions, Progressions & Graduation Committee will evaluate the transcript and may request a copy of the school catalog with course descriptions and /or a syllabus for the course. Courses must be from an accredited school. Course grades must have been "C" or higher for each course the first time it was taken to be considered for transfer credit.

For applicants, only general education courses listed in our curriculum plan may be candidates for transferring in to Galen. Non-science courses will be considered if the work has been completed within the last 10 years. Science-oriented general education courses will be considered if they have been completed within the last 5 years.

Final approval shall be at the discretion of the Assistant Dean and the Admissions, Progressions & Graduation Committee. Tuition will be adjusted to reflect credits for coursework approved for transfer.
